What Not To Do After a Fire

After a fire is put out and the fire department leaves, the homeowners first thought is more times than not is to go in and see the amount of damage as well as start moving things. Do not do those things. Contact SERVPRO of Boone & Clinton Counties after the fire department leaves and let us do the rest. Here are more things to not do after a fire loss.
Dont:
1. Attempt to wash any walls or painted surfaces.
2. Attempt to shampoo carpet or upholstered furniture.
3. Attempt to clean any electrical appliances (TB sets, radios, etc).
4. Consume any food or beverages that may have been stored sloe to fire, heat or water due to possible contamination.
5. Turn on any light fixtures or switches that was close to the loss or near water.
